    @zaida

    Ive been doing some reading on various mystics –  Sister Faustina and Josepha Menendes…..their images of Hell are very disturbing to me….”if” we believe these visions were given to them for a purpose….do we also need to believe the suffering they see is really what exists? Just wondering on other peoples’ perspectives!

    Blessings!

    We need not take any vision literally. The biblical prophets didn’t, Jesus himself didn’t, as we can see from what the Apostles later say about such things as the end of time, the second coming and the judgment. So we can say of the visions you refer to that they are “representative” of what they are said to portray, rather than being “the real thing.”

    Ah thank you David, that makes sense….I hadn’t really considered that – I suppose much of Revelations is like that (representative)…..

    That’s very helpful to me.

    I’m just learning about Josepha Menendez – such beautiful work and insight about God’s love…

    Hope you (and everyone) are well –

    Blessings!
